The US Forest Service is offering guided nature walks in the Snoqualmie Pass area this summer.

Gold Creek Pond--regular walk on Sundays. This one mile loop is a barrier-free trail suitable for all ages. The walk lasts about 90 minutes, and explores wildlife, plants, and how restoration efforts are ongoing. Check in at the Snoqualmie Pass Information Center at 12:15.

Twin Lakes--regular walk on alternating Saturdays. The walk is two miles round-trip on a hiker trail, and participants learn about the unique forest along the Cascade crest. Check in at 9:45.

Kids in the Woods--family activities at Gold Creek Pond every other Saturday. One program is about animals, and the other features trees and a scavenger hunt.

Interpretive naturalists can lead special group walks upon request. Call the Snoqualmie Pass Information Center for more information: (425) 434-6111.
